FAQ
Find answers to a few of our most frequently asked questions.
Once we have agreed upon the general parameters of your trip, we will create the initial proposal. This is not the final itinerary, just a starting point to get us on the right track. The more we work together on travel plans, the better we will be able to know your specific style. As you continue to provide specific feedback we will make changes until it is just right!
During the planning process, email communication is best. This allows us to keep track of anything that is discussed. All emails will be answered within one business day. If you prefer a phone call you may schedule it on the Alto Travel calendar. While you are traveling, Alto Travel will be available for you as much as possible. As time zones may make it difficult to answer immediately, you will often have local partners available to help with any issues that may arise.
Since the work we do involves custom trip planning, the time spent on your trip is uniquely yours. Starting from scratch is absolutely possible, but will require another trip planning fee.
Each vacation itinerary will be invoiced as an entire package, inclusive of all components we have agreed upon. Supplier contracts are often confidential and do not permit us to provide itemized pricing. If you wish to amend your itinerary, we will reprice your total trip cost.
Cancellation costs vary by supplier. Due to the highly customized nature of your vacation, trip insurance is highly recommended in the event you need to cancel or postpone your trip. If you would like a policy that includes the ability to cancel for any reason, please let us know.
Travel insurance for all trips is highly recommended. After you trip deposit has been submitted we will provide you with a quote. You are welcome to research other policies as well.
Your final itinerary will be available 10-14 days before departure. You will receive a digital copy of all your information.
